Welcome.  I work in the Atmospheric Sciences Dept., where I teach and carry out research. Much of my work involves numerical modeling, in collaboration with UIUC faculty/staff (Rauber, McFarquhar, Wilhelmson) and specialists at NCSA (Alameda, Rossi).

My interests include thunderstorms - their interaction, and resulting enhanced or diminished chances of tornadoes, and how storm systems are influenced by forcing and microphysical cooling. I also run the department's real-time prediction effort.  I participate in field research, such as the CLASIC (2007), when I helped plan missions for NASA's ER-2 aircraft.
